Isildur Rollercoaster Continues

The rollercoaster ride continues on Full Tilt Poker for Isildur1

After going on the heater of all heaters for two weeks in late November –winning roughly $6 million—the online sensation known only as Isildur1 has recently plummeted back down to earth, and somehow managed to wind up in the red by early December!

After a two-day $5 million downswing, Isildur1 was pronounced DOA by the online poker community. Full Tilt Poker’s ‘Red Pros’ were lining up to take shots at the Swede as he seemed to be spewing chips to whomever was across the virtual table from him.

However, after a $2.5 million day in the black, Isildur1 seems to be back on point and ready to tangle with anyone and everyone at the nosebleed limits. So for now, it seems the last chapter in this latest Norwegian saga has yet to be written.

It seemed the online poker world finally had the Swede’s play figured out, especially Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies and Brian Townsend, but even these two were victims of Isildur1 yesterday when he took about $1 million off of each of them, before parting Tom “durrrr” Dwan with another $500k – Dwan has been the hard-luck loser during Isildur1’s time at the tables, seemingly unable to solve the riddle of his play.

The jury is still out on exactly who is sitting behind the screen-name Isildur1, thus far every unaccounted for online poker pro has been linked to the account at some point. Everyone from Todd Brunson, to another mystery Swede ‘Martonas’ has been fingered as Isildur1. Despite his denial of the claim, the smart money is on Swedish Poker Pro Viktor Blom. Blom was ‘outed’ early on by Luke ‘Full_Flush’ Schwartz, and then later on by Tony G in a blog entry.

Everything about Blom’s game fits the bill for Isildur1:

Many people in the know consider him the best heads-up No Limit Hold’ Em (NLHE) player in the world, and after decimating his competition in NLHE the only way for Isildur1 to find a game was to switch to Pot Limit Omaha (PLO).

His hyper-aggressive style and fearlessness make for some huge pots and big swings: Basically Isildur1 has out-durrrred durrrr! Isildur1 has been involved in the 16 biggest pots in all of online poker this year despite only being on the scene for a little over a month! Isildur1 is also responsible for the only two pots to top $1 million in online poker history, and has been involved in the five biggest pots in online poker history!

Whoever Isildur1 turns out to be, one thing is for certain: The man, or possibly woman, has changed the landscape of the high-stakes games in online poker to where almost anything is possible! Nobody, even earlier this year, would have ever envisioned a month like we’ve had on the Full Tilt Poker nosebleed tables. Imagine telling the tale of Isildur1 at Planet Poker back in 1999 when they struggled to keep a $2/$4 limit Hold’ Em game going!

Isildur1 plies his trade on Full Tilt Poker. Get Full Tilt rakeback and you can start to grow your poker bankroll and who knows you may be the next Isildur1!
