PokerStars Deposit options – What method to choose

Something that is frequently asked by online poker players is “which deposit method should I choose when depositing at PokerStars?” This question is even more prominant amongst US poker players as their options are more restricted. For US poker players, the answer is not cut-and-dry thanks to numerous gray areas that surround the legality of online poker. Hopefully this article will give you all the information you need, whether you are logging in from the US or abroad!

Pokerstars Accepted Deposit Methods For USA Players

With UIGEA legislation still in limbo the deposit and cash-out options for US poker players is constantly in a state of flux. Some banks will allow you to fund your account with your debit card, others will not: Online poker players from the United States should definitely make an inquiry to PokerStars to see what methods are currently accepted, and if any of these methods have fees assessed to them.

Once a player funds their account at PokerStars –If your credit or debit card will not process your deposit most players choose E-Checks to fund their account—the simplest cash-out method is to have PokerStars send you a check: or E-Check if you have already setup an E-Check account. The checks typically arrive within a week –10 days for E-Checks-- of being processed –it generally takes anywhere from a couple hours to a day to process the withdrawal—and are very discreet.

METHOD DEPOSIT CASH-OUT

Diners Club Yes No
Bank Draft Yes No
Checks No Yes

If you are having trouble funding your PokerStars account you can contact the dedicated PokerStars Deposit Assistance Department (DAD for short) by sending an E-Mail to DAD@pokerstars.com.

Keep in mind that certain methods for depositing and cashing-out at PokerStars do incur a fee, so make certain you have checked every facet of the deposit and withdrawal option you intend to use: Unfortunately, many US players are limited in their options, and must incur this fee for lack of options.

Pokerstars Deposit Options For Non US Players

Unlike US players, players from Europe, and to a lesser extent Australia and other parts of the world, have numerous options for depositing and cashing-out from PokerStars. PokerStars lists 16 different options for online poker players from the UK, 15 for Australian Poker Players, and 12 for Japan. Examples of these are Solo and Maestro debit cards, credit cards and popular eWallet services such as Moneybookers and Neteller.
