International Poker Network (Formerly Boss)
Formerly known as the Boss Poker Network, the International Poker Network is one of the largest collections of online poker sites and is currently the 6th most heavily trafficked poker network. Owned and Operated by Boss Media in Sweden, the network is publicly traded on the Stockholm Exchange. The network encompasses a total of 52 poker rooms; with some of the networks sites being the most recognizable names in online poker.
• Featured Poker Rooms: OPoker and Poker Heaven
IPN Player Base and Competition
With strong traffic numbers, the International Poker Network has a tremendous selection of games, and some of the most heavily trafficked PLO games outside of PokerStars, Full Tilt, and Party Poker. Players will find competition on the International Poker Network’s tables on the aggressive side, with a lot of players willing to gamble their chips quite often.
• Players Online = 7,000 • 24 hour peak for cash game players = 5,456 • 7-day average for cash game players = 2,600 • International Poker is the home of Richard “Quiet Lion” Brodie and Dave “Devilfish” Ulliot
IPN Games and Stakes Available
The International Poker Network sticks mainly to the bread and butter games, Texas Holdem, Omaha hi/lo, PLO, and 7-Card-Stud –which accounts for their decent numbers in PLO. The network also offers a variety of draw poker games and 5-Card-Stud. However, aside from the Texas Holdem tables and to a lesser extent the PLO tables, the games selection is not the best in the poker world.
The International Poker Network offers a variety of stakes from micro-limit games up to mid/high stakes, with the majority of action taking place at the lower and middle limits.
The network also offers a good selection of multi-table tournaments, and Sit & Go tournaments with very little wait-time, and fairly soft competition.
International Poker NetworkSoftware Features
The International Poker Network recently overhauled their software, and after working out the inevitable glitches that occur after an upgrade of that magnitude the network’s GUI is one of the sleekest I’ve ever come across in online poker –rivaling UB’s sleek, simple, design.
International’s lobby and in-game features are a little behind some other sites, especially their lobby filter. That said there are no major omissions from the network’s software, and players will find playing on the network simple and enjoyable.
IPN Pros and Cons
One of the strong suits of the network is the experience that some of the sites on the International Poker Network bring to the table. Sites like Poker Heaven have been involved in online poker since the early days and have shown an ability to not only survive, but to thrive.
Like all publicly traded online poker entities, the International Poker Network does not accept US players at this time which is a major drawback –especially if you live in the US! Other than that, the network has very little downside. With a large player base and high quality software, the International Poker Network is one of the top online poker networks in the business. What's more, the IPN nwtwork is one of the best based on it's generous poker rewards system. All players who signup at a BOSS/IPN room via Rakebackftw.com will receive an amazing deal. All our members receive 30% rakeback, a $1000 first deposit bonus and free poker training at the top two online poker training websites, Bluefire Poker and PokerPwnage.
