iPoker Summary
iPoker has been able to do the unthinkable and challenge the big three poker sites --Party Poker, PokerStars, and Full Tilt Poker—with a collection of smaller sites. While not quite in the PokerStars/Full Tilt player pool range, the iPoker Network is in a dead heat for the 3rd spot with Party poker in terms of traffic . Although the network consists of some 68 online poker sites, the majority of traffic comes from a dozen or so of the poker rooms on the network. Owned and operated by Playtech and headquartered in both Israel and Cyprus, iPoker is traded on the London Stock Exchange.
* Featured Poker Rooms: Titan Poker, Chili Poker, Dafa Poker, Mansion Poker, Sega Poker, Sun Poker, Victor Chandler, and William Hill Poker
Ipoker Player Base and Competition
With a large player base iPoker definitely has its fair share of weak players, along with the usual grinders and bonus whores you encounter on any sites that offer rakeback. iPoker players will find the lower limit games looser than almost anywhere in online poker; iPoker’s low-limit players seem to love to gamble!
* Players Online = 12,700 * 24 hour peak for cash game players = 8,781 * 7-day average for cash game players = 4,750
Ipoker Games and Stakes Available
iPoker sticks to the basics when it comes to games which is both good and bad: It’s good if you like a lot of table selection for Texas Holdem, and not so good if you like the more unique games offered on some online poker sites. Almost all of iPoker’s traffic is in No Limit Holdem, with a decent amount of Limit Holdem players. Players looking to compete in PLO and Omaha hi/lo will have to play at peak hours to find a decent table. Overall iPoker offers:
* Texas Holdem * Pot Limit Omaha * Omaha hi/lo * 7-Card-Stud * 5-Card Stud * Razz
iPoker also has a really strong tournament schedule, with some big guaranteed tournaments to supplement the low and mid buy-in tournaments the site offers around the clock. iPoker also has a number of Sit and Go options, with tournaments starting as fast as you can register for them.
iPoker Software Features
iPoker’s software is somewhere in between the fancier sites, and the more utilitarian sites. iPoker uses 3-d graphics that are not quite on par with OnGame’s, but superior to other poker networks and sites who use standard avatars and two-dimensional graphics.
The network’s features are extremely functional, and easy to utilize, even for players new to online poker. iPoker has a number of lobby filters, as well as a ton of in-game features to make your time at the tables as easy and entertaining as possible.
Ipoker Pros and Cons
Despite not allowing US poker players, iPoker is one of the most heavily trafficked online poker networks for a reason, the software is good, the promotions are great, and the deposit bonuses and cash back options are on a par with the other European networks. However, the network is strictly anti-rakeback and does not allow any of it's skins to provide rakeback to their players. Any site who gives Ipoker rakeback is breaking the network rules and faces big fines from the network for doing so.
Because of this, the amount a player can get back at the network is extremely limited when compared to the other large European networks. For players who want rakeback at a bigger European network with soft competition, check our Boss rakeback and Entraction rakeback pages. |
